EDPC 5345 Abnormal Human Behavior

The purpose of the Abnormal Human Behavior (EDPC 5345) is to help students understand the dysfunction in human behavior or social disorganization. This course is specifically designed for students pursuing degrees in mental health, school, and rehabilitation counseling in a CACREP-accredited program who plan on working as professional counselors in various counseling settings. The course includes the criteria of psychiatric diagnosis, the use of the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the theories of psychopathology, treatment modalities, and treatment interventions. The course also includes basic knowledge of types of psychopharmacological medications.
