COU 790 Internship in Counseling

This course provides a clinical supervisory experience where each student is evaluated based on their ability to evidence core competencies of counseling. The course will include critical discussion by all participants of topics relevant to professional counseling. In addition, presentations by the instructor, group discussion of relevant topics to the practice of counseling, group supervision where students present cases for peer and instructor feedback, as well as engage in personal growth reflection activities. Class will also include student presentations of consultation reports and of counseling-oriented resources. The course experience is co-constructed, and thus, students are expected to engage in leadership in the classroom and beyond.
